Another project for my Sustainability, Eco-Art, Hacktivism class, this work is an analysis of all of the items that I own in my apartment. All items are categorized into four categories regarding why I own them:
- Fun/My Entertainment (Xbox, TV, etc.)
- Work/School (Desk, Pens, etc.)
- Needs (Toothbrush, Food, etc.)
- Wants (Posters, Soda, etc.)
I then broke those down into which room they are found in. While some results were obvious, such as the bathroom being mostly “Needs” and no “Fun” items, I was surprised to find “Work” overtaking “Fun” in my very own room.

BloNo Recycling Map
A project for my Sustainability, Eco-Art, Hacktivism class, this map finds your location and shares the closest locations for recycling in Bloomington Normal. However, it goes beyond that by allowing users to submit new places which are added to the map automatically. The project is not completed, however this is functioning prototype.
Works great on mobile phones, tablets, and computers!

Well today is finally the day I can talk about what’s been keeping me super busy over the last week.
NEW GIRL TALK!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was prepping for the new release, doing lots of random things from photoshopping artwork for the album to making websites to get it. Unfortunately, as of right now, the servers are overloaded so good luck grabbing it, you might have to try a few times or wait til later.

Here is my project for one of my art classes this semester. It is a map of what I am most likely listening to while walking to or from my various classes. It based on all of my scrobbles for the first four weeks of class.

This is a little bit of an experiment more than anything else, I’m not sure if I’ll be keeping this site up, but for now essentially it will be a page to see live information about me. As of this moment, the page isn’t done but already provides a gist of my location, most recent tweets, and the last 8 songs I have listened to via Last.fm.
The Last.fm part by the way, was what I was working on about a week back, I found a jQuery method for displaying Last.fm, but I wanted it to actually show if I was listening live at that time. So, I did some mad jQuery Googling, and guess/checking and actually got the damn thing to work! I really had no experience with jQuery or using an API before, but somehow I got the jQuery example given to fetch whether I was “now playing” via the Last.fm API, so I’m a pretty happy camper. :D
Back to the point, the site isn’t perfect yet, I am still looking into adding more (live video via Qik?), and I’m not sure if it really has a point, but I figure I’d put it out there for now and just sorta see what happens. I figure it would be neat to see when I am driving to or from school to home, people who care can actually see when I’ll be arriving. Also back into the pointless realm, they could see what tunes I got going on for my trip (yes, even phone scrobbles). I don’t know, this page is really just an experiment to prove to myself I could actually code it. Although, if it did save me a few “where are you” phone calls, that would be nice too ;)

First off, click here to see the video in HD since the stuff is tiny. Secondly, this is a demo video of my music visualizer that I made last year. I never really got to recording it, so hopefully now people can at least see what it actually does. Yeah, enjoy the video, and you are more than welcome to try it out yourself if you have a Mac and webcam! Download it for yourself at: http://bit.ly/68VyvF
